The Nike x Off-White Rubber Dunk is about “incorporating past ideas in a new era — designing with purpose and cultural relevance to come up with something new,” according to Off-White’s Virgil Abloh. The silhouette merges elements of the Nike Pegasus line with the Nike Dunk to honor Nike’s legacy in technical innovation and nod to skateboarding’s history of experimentation.

Each colorway will release with exclusive regional availability: the Black, White and Green Strike colorway in the Americas; the University Gold and Black colorway in China and Asia-Pacific; the White and University Blue colorway across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The Nike x Off-White Rubber Dunk  “University Gold” stands strong in homage to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The luxe metallic adorns the overlays all across from toe to heel, from consideration of late ’90s and early 2000s technical runners. Bright yellow mesh and rubber piping complements both underneath and above, the latter taking the shape of a Swoosh featuring  the Off-White signature zip tie. Matching tabs sit adjacent while the tooling is blacked out along with the exposed Air unit.

“It’s safe to say one of the greatest inventions in modern footwear is Nike's approach to the idea of Air, and adding it as a cushioning element,” Abloh says. “Air is foundational to my understanding of what innovation can look like.”

The Nike Sneakers x Off-White Rubber Dunk “University Gold” is coming to the Philippines exclusively at Commonwealth. Follow our Instagram for more details, coming soon.
